At the end of the scan choose 'Remove Selected' if any items have been found. Re-boot, run the program again, but this time run a Full scan. Remove Selected , and Re-boot. Ignore Windows Alerts. I don't surf porn site, I don't open message I don't know the sender, and especially never open the attachment. I use a laptop with sometime a very slow connection, I really want to get rid of anything that slow down my computer and reduce my precious battery time. Microsoft's Malicious Software Removal Tool will alert you (if malware found and after rebooting - so not real time) and if running Vista, Windows Defender will also do such in real time. Daffy D Posted May 11, 2009 Share Posted May 11, 2009 I have Avira Antivirus and COMODO Internet Security installed both are free with daily updates. These two programs seem to stop just about any nasties from downloading. They also install in the context menu (right click) so you can run a scan on a suspicious file by right click on the mouse. So ignore the above. I'm quite sure that it won't state that "your computer is infected with Trojans". Therefore I'm reasonable certain that it is malware masquerading as an antivirus solution. These are programs that generate misleading alerts and false detections of malcode in order to convince users to purchase the illegitimate security software. For example, programs such as Trojan:Win32/Antivirusxp and Program:Win32/FakeRednefed may display product names or logos in an apparent unlawful attempt to impersonate Microsoft products. These products may represent themselves as "Antivirus XP", "AntivirusXP 2008", "WinDefender 2008", "XP Antivirus", etc. If you have accidentally installed on these rogue programs, Malwarebytes' AntiMalware may be able to remove it. What on earth are you thinking? I expected better than that from some who has some technical knowledge. The upload is from MY personal online storage account. I downloaded a clean copy from the Malwarebyte website, uploaded it and made it into a Direct Download for the convenience of forum members. Direct download means that they don't have to jump through any hoops to get to the application. That, as you know, can be important to someone who has an infected machine. I don't give a hoot as to what others store on their Rapidshare accounts. If you can link me to an acceptable(in your eyes) online storage account that no one has ever used for pirate software or porn, that is reliable and allows for direct downloads, I'll use it. I'm providing a perfectly legitimate and convenient mirror for BM use. Not a porn link, pirate software link or even a Rapidshare web page in sight and you bring up the subject of pirate software?? I hope you don't turn this into a contest and leave me link where it should be, for the convenience of board members. Not at the mercy of some arbitrary argument. Here is the application again; <removed by me>. If you can provide a direct download link for the members from an alternative source, be my guest. But I certainly don't appreciate you lobotomising my work because of the fact that Rapidshare hosts pirate software on their servers. Which online service does not? Rapidshare are hot on removing such software from their servers if notified. Even if your file is legitimate no one in their right mind that has any level of security knowledge would download a file from your personal storage. In case you didn't have the permission, you're on the same level as software pirates! On the other hand, if a security software developer allows private person (which I doubt!) persons for to store their software on an storage system which is hosting pirated contents, except a very small percentage of legal contents, I and many others wouldn't trust such developer anymore. You also breaking the forum rules for to indirect directing the users of Thaivisa to your File Storage location at an hosting system with mainly pirated stuff. If you like to promote that software, you could easy use the official and legitimate website of the developer. That triggers the question why on earth you want to get the members and guest's of Thaivisa to download from YOUR storage instead of the secure site of the developer?! bloody tiger Posted May 17, 2009 Share Posted May 17, 2009 Hey slippery, One other option, if you reside in thailand, although not free is to physically buy the "BITDEFENDER" anti virus sortware for around 200 baht. This is available at Se-ed bookstores and most computer centres (IT CITY etc) and is good for 3 years of updates.
