YangYaiEric
I'm in Pattaya with the wife and kids for a few days vacation, and was wondering if Beer Lao is available at Big C or any other leading supermarkets. I would like to buy a few crates of it to take back home to Korat. Any info would be GREATLY appreciated ! Cheers.

Unfortunately it is not available. My wife is from Lao and from what I have heard the government is making plans to export beer Lao throughout the region in 2 years time. You can find it in some small beer shops around BKK, but at Big C...no luck!
Guderian
You could try the supermarkets that specialise in items popular with farangs - Villa supermarket at the Avenue comes to mind, or the food centre in the basement of the new Central Mall by Soi 9. Even big Friendship on Pattaya Tai may be worth a look? I read on one of the Pattaya boards last year that there is a place somewhere near Carrefour that sells it wholesale in cans, but I'm blowed if I can find that thread again, let alone remember the directions to the shop. Anybody care to remind me of the location?
BigSnake
Don't think you will find any Beer Lao in Big C or any supermarket in Thailand(?) My Good buddy Hal, who live in Isan love the stuff, he has his wife and her girlfriends to make a little shooping trip to Laos once in awhile and pick his up a case or two. Some tasty stuff

johng
They sell Lao beer at the "Lighthouse restaurant " its on the Bali Hai pier road just as it starts to climb the hill to the Royal Cliff hotel, you can't miss it because you'll see the fake lighthouse. They have it in bottles, 60 baht for a small one and draft..but had run out of draft when I went there. To me beer Lao tastes marginally better than Leo and not really worth the hefty premium of drinking it at the restaurant. The cashier at this restaurant said that Lao beer was available in many of the bars in Pattaya and Jomtien but I've never seen it advertised. They definately don't have it in Friendship. lekatai
Beer Lao is available at "Le Katai" bar/restaurant in Soi Lengkee. It's not actually a French Restaurant,as the previous poster said it's just got a French sounding name. There used to be a wholesaler who sold Beer Lao behind Carrefour,in the same soi as KPK foods, but it's not there any more.I understand that it has moved to somewhere in Thepprasit road, but I don't know the exact address.I will try and find out the details and post them here later.I also understand that there is some problem with supplies at present, with no Lao light being available for a couple of weeks Edited May 12, 2009 by lekatai
Jingthing
A while back, I recall it being mentioned that it is sold at the supermarket at 2nd road and Pattaya North Road though I cannot confirm they have it now.
