Seeds

Hi one and all,

A bit of backround info about myself

I am lucky enough to have been to Thailand ten times with my next trip in 4 weeks time.

Last three trips I have been up in my girls home town of Sawankhalok, Sukhothai.

I am privilaged to have met up here a very nice retired doctor from the UK who now stays permanently here and between his wife and himself own two properties.

He has been kind enough to rent me one of his Properties which is lovely and suits me very well, which I can rent for as long as I want be it weeks/months/years.

He has asked me to take back a few things for him from the UK.

One of these things is a few packets of beetroot seeds which I now have.Despite me using google search ect I cannot find more information on taking seeds to Thailand and if its not breaking any laws.

I do not want to find myself in trouble for this through ignorange, so if any member can answer this I would be most grateful. The seeds will be in my suitcase.

Thanks in advance

petros,

i have brought seeds in numerous times, but not always made it aware to customs. never was caught, though.

on a flight in from india a few months back, upon arrival into BKK i heard the hostess on the plane's p.a. saying all seeds, nuts, fruit must be shown to customs. i had about 6 small packs of vegetable seeds and some potatoes, about 6, that i was planning to plant. i showed them to the guy at customs (the red zone where you go if you want to declare something), he took a quick look and just waved me thru. this happened again about 2 months later, again no probs.

so unless you're bringing in bushels of seeds, it has been my experience that it won't be a problem.
