Police seize 600 kgs of marijuana, arrest 4 suspects

NAKHON RATCHASIMA: -- Police have intercepted an attempt to smuggle 600 kilogrammes of marijuana from Mukdahan to Ayutthaya and arrested four suspects.

The four suspects were stopped by police and arrested at a police checkpoint at a traffic flyover in Nakhon Ratchasima's Muang district.

Deputy Police Commissioner-General Pol Gen Jongrak Juthanon and Provincial Police Bureau 3 Commissioner Pol Lt Gen Krissada Phankhongchuen held a press conference Thursday to announce the arrest.

The four were identified as Thawee Phosim, 43, Adulsak Khampila, 40, Thiwa Jungjun, 25 and Tim Phosim, 47.

The drug was hidden inside a Toyota van.

Thawee told police that they were hired to deliver the drug to a person in Ayutthaya for Bt15,000.

600 kilo of leaves. Must have filled the whole back of the pick up. That's the weight of about 7-8 people. I wonder why they didn't spread the load out or take it at different times....or perhaps they were doing..

Here in Holland, not a big deal! Last year a Mushroom factory's caught here, 11.000 plants ! The dude only got a few months jail, and now is free again, with loads of cash! Our goverment is so easy, to much rules. Thai's deal different!!

No he had originally a mushroom factory on paper, last 3 years he was growing drug plants, i believe marihuanna, or how you write it.

Have a close look at any overgrown vacant land in Bangkok. You might be surprised at what you find. Of course, upcountry they only grow rice, cassava and bananas.

600kg - gawd - that must have reeked for 40 miles - all the dogs wer chasing it for miles, they were prolly bombed & weaving all over the road and got pulled over for DUI. Putzes. Maybe next time get that big mama - she seems to have room to spare - no view, though.
