File Sharing

Just got hooked up with 2.5mbps true connection and pretty pleased so far (macafee speed test averages around 1.4 Mb/ps).

Now I really want to build a good selection of my favourite songs which you cant buy here and want to know what thye best file sharing program is. I have tried Kazza but it is crap and soooooo slow, any suggestions welcome,

I've tried them all .... Limewire, Kazaa, Bittorrent, local hubs ... all the same .... crap and slow ...

You might find a few songs on mp3search.com. Quite fast downloads.

give a try to Edonkey2000, it's not this bad

lite and pro version, pro can be enable with a patch that can be found everywhere on the web

i use emule , and have consistent 3.6k downloads, which is my normal connection speed. its emule+ 1.1b, and its the fastest one i have used by far. the other ones would only download at 2.5 or so. still waiting for adsl. soulseek is good for music you might not find anywhere else, but you gotta pay or wait. limewire pro has been quick for me also, but not as much selection.

hi, I used 1mb connections from issp, it is fast for bittorrent. which kazaa version u used? revolutions?

I used Bearshare and have got most of my favourite hard-to-find tracks using it.

Thanks for the heads-up - I'm downloading it now.

I use ZoneAlarm to block the Ads - Weather and Save - in the current free version from accessing the Internet, so with this version I shouldn't have to.

Kazza is notorious for filling hard drives with spyware. Whenever you install these things remember that with a few exceptions, most software is "free" for a reason.
