Is anyone prescribed this (for p.arthritis in my case) and can they access it in Thailand? If so, do they do this through their home medical system or directly in Thailand and if that's the case how much it costs? Any help appreciated as I may have to take it for some time.

hi firstly i symphaise with you taking it...i was prescried it 2 years a go...it never agreed with me ..i developed a lot of night sweats and sweats during the day

it has not gone away...i only took it for 1 month

to restrictive..

you can get it in thailand from some pharmices and all hospitals with give it to you

It is available in Thailand both as an import (Leucovorin) and in several local generic brands (very inexpensive).

Due to its toxicity methotrexate is a "Category S"drug, not legal for sale over the counter. Needs to be obtained from a hospital pharmacy for which a consultation with a doctor will be needed. You should in any case have monthly labs done (CBC, liver enzymes).

Bring a short medical summary from your home country doctor with you that includes results of most recent labs for comparison.

Pretty much any internist at any hospital can order the lab work and issue a script and if you are going to be here for a limited time and are well stabilized on treatment by your usual doc at home that may be all you want or need. if you are going to be here a long time, or if you think consultation with additional specialists would be useful, there are some excellent rheumatologists here, most of them at Bumrungrad Hospital. I particulalry recommend:

Thanks for the info, I will keep hold of that.

BTW I already started & stopped it myself as I agree it's restrictive and the side effects aren't great, but getting short on options...

did you find any alternative drugs that agreed with your psoratic athritus? im just beginning to get stiff finger joints in the morning... really dont want to take any toxic drugs daily if i can help it.

Why do you think what you have is psoriatic arthritis as opposed to OA or RA?
