June 2, 200917 yr I've had my Non O for over a year now and i'm on the final stamp i can get from it. It ran out in April, but before it ran out i did a visa hop and got another 90 days from it. The visa has now expired but i'm still on a Non O stamp. Will I be able to change over to a Non B by means of getting a work permit, or will i need a new visa 1st? Thanks.
June 2, 200917 yr You could change to a "B" Visa if the company could meet the requirements for you to get a one year "Extension of Stay". If not, you would have to leave and get a "B" visa. You didn't mention if you were married or how it is you have the "O" visa, that possibly could be extended without a change of visa also.
June 2, 200917 yr You can get a work permit with a non-o visa, And then and exension of stay based upon employment if the company can qualify tor it. Only visa changes are done from a visa that is not a non immigrant visa to a non immigrant visa. There is no need to do a chnage if you already have a non immigrant visa.
