renewed my retirement visa in jomtien. after all was said and done before being completely done the imagination officer asked if I owned or rented my home. Not sure why they ask this as legally we cannot own a home [not a condo] . since I own a company that owns a house and I lease the house from the company I said "Lease" [this is the truth] she asked how much, I told her, she wrote it down and that was that.

why do they ask and can we tell them yes, we own a house without problems?

You can own a house legally through a company I wouldn't hesitate to answer yes if I did.

I'm not so sure about that if I read the numerous threads regarding this.

I agree - the company owns the house - not you. If you say you own it that makes the company/wife or who/whatever a nominee and that is not what you want to show.
