i've been advised to stay away from them.

nevetheless the parking area of Union Auction is right next to Carrefour. Auctions are held every few weeks or so at Carrefour parking lot towards the back.

Check up Union Auction.

Hi - thanks for this - I had read this rather older thread - I understand that next week one of the big bank is putting the Repossed cars up for auction - 1/2/3 years old...

For those that are interested:

I went to the auction and found it to be very good. I bought a six month old truck for 200,000 off the new price and am very, very happy with it. You are allowed to inspect as they drive them up for sale - my one is in the dealer having a service and a few bits added and they were very surprised the price I paid.

Take someone who speaks Thai and restrain yourself - you can view vehicles the previous day. Banks offload their repossessions here and there were quite a few dealers up from BKK.

Not a negative experience that some have described - just be careful and select the previous day the vehicle you are interested in and the price you want to pay - stick to it. A risk? yes... but if you are careful you can get a bargain - I would say out of 150 vehicles 95% were sold.

Do they have motorcycles too?

The do... they are auctioned first - stupid prices as well - I was tempted and have one already! no big bikes though - lots of scooters where the kids cannot keep up the payments - going for just over 20,000
