Need Help In Identifying A Young Bird

Featured Replies

On Thursday my brother in law found a young bird that had been hurt and brought it to me to look after.

It looks to be very young, maybe just a fledgling.

It has cut on back but looks not to serious once I had cleaned it, also tail and belly feathers have taken a battering.

The only things I can get it to eat so far are raw mince, sweet corn and milk (via straw), will not touch fruit or seeds.

If possible can someone identify it for me and any advice on feeding etc would be appreciated.

Many thanks

It's a young Indian Roller (Coracias Benghalensis).

It eats insects and reptiles. Keep giving it meat.

"Lotdoan", they live inside bamboo.

You'll find them next to the roaches and grasshoppers in the market.

Have seen them alive, before they fry them, maybe can get some grasshoppers to.
