I wrote a week ago desperately seeking the truth and you were absolutely helpful.

You told me (I'm Italian) there's no such thing as the "90 days in less than 6 months" stuff, cause they scrapped it.

You also added that it applied only, in any case, to visa exemption entries.

I'm here only to give my testimony: the day before yesterday at the Pattaya Immigration office they told me that that rule is still valid.

So, how to get precise info? This site seems to be the only place to get good info, good for us, of course, but how's that possible!

Really upsetting.

By the way, last time I entered Thailand, Visa exempted, I wrote in the arrival card that I'm here in Thailand for education. They give me the stamp but, I mean, could I have some problems at the customs when I'll leave? Stamps are only for tourism, right?

Thanks.

Wrong forum, mate. A post in the Thai visas etc. forum may get you a response.

No problem whatsoever.

Maestro

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

But you only got 30 days at the airport, or 15 if it is a land border.

Is that enough for you.

An immigration office may not know all the rules. Apparently the perosn that you adked abut the 90 days in 6 months ruels did not know waht he was talking about.

That rule was revoked November of 2008. I can't find the translated copy of the police order.

But the webpage on the MFA website about visa exempt entries dosn't mention it anymore. It does mention 15 day entries at border crossing which came into effect when the rule was changed.
