If you have 400,000 Baht ( In my name only and proof of funds from abroad) or more in a Thai bank and wish to obtain an extinsion based on marrige , are you still required to get an Embassy letter ? I realise an Embassy letter is not required if have 800,000 baht in Thai bank on an extension based on retirement . Mike ..BR549

No embassy letter needed - but you need a letter from the bank and up to date passbook showing the amount on the bank letter.

As said a letter from the bank and a passpook updated on the same day as the bank letter.
