looking for information on the best way to get from Surat Thani airport to Koh Samui By Bus and onto Chaweng Resort.

Planning on flying with AirAsia and their is no real information on the Web.

Can you just turn up at Surat Thani airport and get a ticket to Chaweng or is it more complicated than that.

Any advice and information would be welcome

You need to get a bus to Don sak- its about 1hourto 1.5 hours - there should be a bus that goes from there- if not take a bahtbus into surat thani bus station from the airport and then get the samui bus/boat combo ticket with raja ferry - ferry takes about 1 hr from don sak.

Raja Ferry provides bus and boat service from Surat Thani to Ko Samui and Ko Pha Ngan.

Seatran Ferry -- Tel: 02 240 2582, Fax: 02 249 5951

Seatran provides bus and boat service from Surat Thani to Ko Samui and Ko Pha Ngan.

At least one runs from the airport.

There's a minibus service running.

Minibus+ferry ticket about 350 baht.

Inside the Surathani airport there is some desk selling combo tickets to Samui or Phangan, usually minibus or bus to Surathani town, then change bus in Panthip or Phangan Tour travel agencies to the pier. I don't remember the cost, but around 350 or more baht

As said there is always a bus waiting to meet the plane. The bus will take you to the ferry port of Donsak.

When you get off the ferry in Nathon avoid the rip off taxis and get on a songteuw. There will be loads waiting. Get the one going to Chaweng. The fair is about 60 Baht.

Do these ferries continue onto Koh Pha-Ngan or are they from a different pier? I may do the same trip but to Koh Pha-Ngan
