My second trip to Thailand and first trip south to a paradise island, originally found by backpackers — which my friends convinced me to follow them down to — there, we stayed in a small resort of huts on the beach. The host was a Swiss man with a past era in rock music around 1970s, who found relief from stres a owner of a tiny tropical resort on a relaxing island, where time almost stood still, back then... It was September 2001, more precise the 11th, which became an unforgettable event. The night clubs were full of partying people, loud tech-dance music and huge wall size screens, where music videos and film trailers were shown. Also this night, an amazing trailer of an airplane that flow straight into one of the World Trade-towers – we talked about how cool digital film effect had become – then another plane into the second tower. Only by that time we realized, it was BBC news, and another screen showing similar "film trailer" from another angle had CNN in the picture-bottom. The audience didn't seems to care — crowded with folks, busy partying — a really sur-realistic experience. Next morning the Swiss bungalow resort-owner Thomas was complaining about how horrible it was, what a catastrophe — and all of his guest agreed — until one regular said: "But Tomas never read newspapers or follow the news, he don't even have a TV-set in his resort!" The revelation: A coconot-palm leaf had fallen down and broke a roof-tile to Thomas' restaurant kitchen... So yes, "reducing life to its essentials makes the world feel a little less overwhelming"...
