Is This Legal

We have been offered property in Huahin, what is stated word for word in the offer is as follows. The contract for 30 years lease of land can be issued at government land office,on reciept of final payment,we will recieve all original land deeds and power off attorney documents which have all been signed by previous land owner, is this legal,the firm seems reputable,would be grateful for any serious input, nignoy

The information you provide seems largely correct, although your terminology raises some ambiguity.

Yes, your 30 year lease, signed by the owner of the property as shown on the chanot is recorded at the local land office by embossing your lease on the back of the chanot as an encumberance. Since the original of the chaot is on file, I doubt you will be getting a true original, buy a copy, properly endorsed, which can be considered an oringal copy.

The power of attorney is questionable unless the owner of the land or you will not be present at the recording.

You will have to pay a recording fee for the lease.
