July 18, 200916 yr Our little 7 year old girl has started to show interest in photography. Great, reminds me of the good old days when I was 8 years old and my Grandad teaching me. So I gave her the G10 to use. This is one from a batch of 10 she shot on her first effort. Mom was the subject. What was amazing and a great endorsement for image stabilization is that it was hand held at 1/4th second by a 7 year old! OK, I processed it, but she composed it, set the scene (?) and shot the image. I did not crop, straighten, correct or recompose, this is the original frame with just sepia type effect which she chose. Anyway, dy'a think she has a future ? Edited July 18, 200916 yr by The Vulcan
July 18, 200916 yr Author Despite all my endorsements for the use of film, digital is the "bees" in this respect eh? The kids can see immediately the results of their efforts, and already we have a print in the album! She's well made up (Scouse for chuffed) Gotta be good all round
July 18, 200916 yr didnt know you were a scouser Vulcan. Its very popular for schools to do something like this with young kids, they see things in such a different way from adults, its always interesting and enlightening National geographic has a "see the bigger picture" contest going on for budding young photographers: http://www.seethebiggerpicture.org/photo-contest-info.php ages 6-16
