Hi guys, keep phoning to make an appointment at one of the five UK BA offices in the UK, all fully booked till the end of August, and are not taking bookings for September yet, and can not tell me when dates for September will be available, So has any one got any idea how long postal applications are taking at the moment please, i realize all applications times will differ, but any personal findings will be very much appreciated, cheers Micky.

My wife applied for hers about a week ago, but I'm going to need my passport before 30 days is up to go aborad in mid-Aug. 2 questions - are they pretty good at returning documents urgently and what is the shortest turnaround for an ILR application anyone has experienced? :)

hi dude, not good news I'm afraid to say, i may be wrong ,but do not think i am, if you request your passport back they will cancel the application, and thus loose the fee. you wont get the passport back till the other half gets her ILR, thats when all the docs come back.i had been calling every day to book an appointment at one of there 5 centers in the UK, all booked, when i told them i need my passport for work and could not send it with the application, abracadabra, an appointment was found !!!!!!!! good luck matey, oh and thanks scooty for the good vibes !!!!!!!!

This is certainly the case if the applicant requests their passport back before the decision is made; but I'm not sure about the applicant's spouse.

All I can suggest is that you phone 0870 606 7766 and ask; giving the following information:-

- the applicant’s full name, date of birth and nationality

- any Recorded or Special Delivery number

- the date on which the application was posted or made in person

- the Home Office reference number if you have one.
