Visitor Visa

Featured Replies

Hi ,

My GF finally put her application for a Visitor visa in about 5 weeks ago, and she has got a SMS back today saying she needs to pick her passport up from regents house between the hours of 3pm and 4:30pm, but the SMS does not say whether or not the visa has been granted, Is this normal.

Also If the Visa is refused will my GF get all the sponsor evidence back.

The evidence I provided was quite substantial and showed our reletionship history over the last 4 years (Photo's, emails, Phone calls, flights ,Hotel booking ect), unfortunatley over the last couple of years she has been working on the family farm and has a commision only job selling cosmetics so I guess this may go agianst her, hopefully not, I will keep my fingers crossed.

I will keep you informed of the out come

Many thanks

Dave

Yes, this is normal. The VFS staff who sent the SMS do not know if her visa has been issued or not. When she collects her passport and documents they will be in a sealed envelope. Normally all of the documents are returned. They may keep the copy of your passport and your sponsor letter but you should get the rest back. If they do happen to keep something that you want back, just write them a letter and ask them to return the paperwork and they will comply (I know this from experience). Good luck, I hope your g/f got her visa.
