Comparing Thai Language Schools On Phuket

Featured Replies

Hi all! After a couple of posts on this forum and A LOT of research, we have decided to come to Phuket on a Thai Visa ED to study the Thai language. (We are currently in Australia and planning on moving to Phuket in December this year.)

The three schools we are choosing between are Walen (opening on Phuket in March 2010), Phuket BKK and Patong Language School. (I haven't found any others so please let me know if I'm missing any.)

Does anyone have any experience with these schools? We want to make sure we choose the one that best suits our needs.

We are looking for a school that is well organised in terms of documentation needed for our ED visas, and that is also friendly and willing to help us out with other things like finding accommodation etc.

We also want to choose a school that is popular with ex-pats since we won't know anyone in Thailand and will want to use the school and the classes to make friends.

Of course we also want a school that is professional and that uses a good teaching method, although we have learned languages in the past mostly through self-study and converations with native speakers so the experience of the teachers isn't highest on our list.

I would be really interested to hear what you all have to say about these schools and any others on Phuket. Thanks!

Seems 80 hours is not enough for anybody from Phuket to answer your question. I will just say that Walen School of Thai will take good care of you in case you decide to use our services. I cannot comment on our worthy competitors but I am personally involved in making sure you receive high quality teaching as well as ED visa assistance if needed.

Regards

Walen School - Phuket coming soon.
