True offers B3 overseas calls

True International Communication, the internet direct dialling (IDD) arm of True Corp, has triggered heavy price competition in the international call market by introducing a single tariff rate offering a discount of up to 90%.

The three-baht-per-minute rate, available until Dec 31, will apply to calls to 13 locations: the United States, Canada, China, South Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Macau, Russia, Alaska, Hawaii and Guam.

To be eligible for the special rate, True fixed-line customers and True Move mobile users can dial the 006 prefix or the '+' sign followed by the country code, area code and telephone number.

However, users of other telephone systems cannot use the around-the-clock service due to the National Telecommunications Commission regulation barring cross-network IDD calling.
