I want to buy an SSL certificate for a new website I'm building. I need one from a CA that is supported by major browsers, but cheap! Anyone know a 'budget' provider?

the cheapest I found is from Thawte Consulting.

They are also helpfull/friendly+fast. But it isn't cheap.

Depends on your definition of cheap (vs. free). I use Comodo certs for almost all of my projects.

The major names are going to be expensive. An alternative is Comodo SSL Certificates. This site sells them at discounted prices > Cheap Comodo Certificates
