"Close to Suvarnabhumi airport" and "close to night life" are mutually exclusive conditions.

You can only hope to get something with easy access to both places.

I recommend Sananwan Palace in Bang Pli.

About 20 min. from the airport and 20 min. from the east end of Bangkok where the nightlife starts. On the below map, the "to Bangna" refers to a district on the SE end of Bangkok.

Details:

Cheap, about 500 baht a night, but clean, good food (room service) and a small but nice pool.

Warning, this is a GUEST HOUSE, not a 5-star hotel (the price should tell you that!).

Manager speaks English and is very helpful giving directions, procuring taxi, etc.

Also a chance to savor small-town life (several nice-sized temples nearby)
