It also depends on the content. If you feel you need to contact the police - do it.

if the hosting company is owned by the offensive website company, which often happens, the abuse addy won't be much good. if the hosting company is a stand-alone company, they generally want to be notified as hosting such a site isn't usually good for their business, so they tend to act quickly.

If it is offensive to you .. turn your computer of & back on again ... this should fix your problem.

And if he's talking child pornography or something you free speech crusaders still want him to leave it alone? It's his business, don't get so worked up about it until you know the facts.

Thats right, get the facts straight before you jump down somebodies throat. If it is promoting something that the OP truly beleives is bad (child pornography etc), than he has every right to report it.

Dont get involved and add to the problem - you will only setup TV, etc, for a possible lawsuit

Let the OP sort it out - surely he can do that - why play the policeman.

Issues like this always smack of self retribution & revenge - all at a personal level.

Were it pedophilia, etc, call the cops, or hit the FBI link. This is highly questionable.

I agree, this filth should be taken off the internet asap.

However, several publicised websites, well known by police authorities all over the world keep on showing the filth, and all those very busy police forces are very busy arresting the downloaders.

I don't have any problem with those arrests, however, I think it would be better to do something to get the origin.

But nobody seems to be able to get the offensive filthy things off the net.

Nor are producers, distributors and uploaders ever arrested.

The police forces are scoring brownie points with politico's, because they seem to do something about it..

Of course it is much easier to weed out downloaders.

Scoring by arresting the origin, well, that is very difficult.

But score we do!

Everybody happy!

So, is there really any use to make yourself angry about offensive websites?

Take one out, 10 of the same come back.

What makes you guys think you know what's on that website?  I was curious about the website, so I asked the OP to email me the url of the website in question.  I looked at the website.  It's just a picture of a monkey sucking on a banana with a caption that says "liamsender sucks" (not my words, I'm just quoting from the highly offensive website).  It was clearly made by one of his friends.

I think the OP does not know what is offensive on the internet.....some people have real evil ideas.....I don't want to give some ideas....I know it is hard to belive but there are worse things on the internet.....

"Offense" is a relative term.

One can choose to be offended. Nobody or nothing can cause offense unless the recipient wishes to be offended.

The OP obviously wishes to be offended, which constitutes a weak character.
