August 14, 200916 yr Hello everybody I have searched some websites online for studio ap. and wondered if all have the necessarily water/electricity connections for a kitchen or a washing mashine!? Because most (low budget ap.) have no kitchen built in as it seems, but I also never recognised those connections on the photos shown so i wondered ... ok, sounds like a stupid question, i know, but what is the standard? Thanks in advance for your answers rgds D.

August 14, 200916 yr Hey trogers, i meant an apartment - even though i wouldn`t mind knowing about condos toorgds D. Apartments have many grades, targeting different social classes. Those occupied mainly by foreigners usually have a pantry with electric stove, hood and microwave, plus a refrigerator. Washing machine may be built under the pantry counter for newer buildings, and located in the balcony for older ones. Apartments for local middle class, and students, may not have any electric stove and hood, but a pantry counter with a pair of sockets for own personal equipment like rice cooker, microwave, kettle, etc. Coin operated washing machines may be available in a common room, but not in each apartment units. Apartments for the working class (usually non-aircon) do not have pantries. Tenants are usually seen cooking on a portable gas stove at the balcony, with a rack storing crockery and pots and pans. Coin-operated washing machine, if any. Condo, especially for foreign tenants, would have an organised pantry, a refrigerator, and a washing machine, either under the pantry counter or at the balcony. More expensive ones include a dryer. Forgot to mention: all pantries will have a sink and faucet. Less expensive condo will probably have simple water filters supplying water suitable for cooking, but not drinking without boiling. The more expensive condos would have more expensive water filters that you can drink directly from. Edited August 14, 200916 yr by trogers
August 14, 200916 yr I've never seen a studio apartment / condo with a washing machine. And I suppose by pantry you mean kitchen? As a pantry is something differnt in England.

A kitchen here is a separate room with a door, and gas stove is allowed. Commonly found in landed properties. A pantry is an open kitchen using only electric stove. August 14, 200916 yr I think most apartments, except the smallest ones, would have space for a washing machine on the balcony, and they usually have a water tap there too, to hook it up to
