Mobile Internet In Thailand

Featured Replies

I am waiting for the arrival of my new Iphone 3GS, in the mean time id like to do some research on which mobile internet provider is the best here in Thailand. I'm only going to be here for a month so post pay ( pay as you go) would be more appreicated. A while ago i did check True's internet package ( post pay) for THB 200 something? for unlimited Edge/3G but i can't seem to find anything on their websites anymore. So if anyone can help would be much appreicated.

I would like unlimited usage please. Post pay.

Thanks a bunch.

You propably mean pre paid (pay as you go) to get post paid (incoive) you need work permits or proof of income etc... Anyways there is no "commercial" 3G networks in Thailand. Only some trial networks with few sites around town thus no real coverage. Reason being they have not released the licences for 3G yet. Hopefully early next year and if we get extremely lucky late this year.

EDGE is the best you can get and i guess it does not matter which one you take if your going to use it only for one month or so.

Edit: AIS post pay unlimited GPRS/EDGE is 1000 baht so i would expect prepaid to be in the same range. Maybe bit more.

Which one is best?

None.

Download speed 50-200kbps.

Upload speed 50-90kbps.

Both AIS (1-2-Call) and DTAC unlimited use 1 month 999 + 7% vat.

True package is aprox 250 only. Dont know any who use them. I guess you get what you pay for.

Used both AIS and DTAC long time, similar speed but coverage may vary if you go up country.

ps. Sorry my mistake! Pre pay, pay as you go.

True is no longer 250 bhat per month. That promotion ended on the 5th of August. You'll need to call TRUE MOVE on 1331 or call the True Care Center on 02 900 8000 to find out about their latest promotion.

DTAC currently has a promotion, 199 baht/month 100 hrs usage. I'm sure it can be done, but it is a struggle to use the whole 100 hours. For me, 100 hours is unlimited, and I am online quite a bit.
