I'm wondering if anyone knows a good shipping company that can come pick up my stuff in BKK, package it all up, and ship it off to my home in America. It isn't a lot, but it would seem like a waste to just leave it all in Thailand.

It just includes some gaming systems, a TV, a couple computer systems + monitors, and perhaps some clothing and other light items that might not all fit in a suitcase. We're talking less than 100kg in total.

Information on what kind of costs, taxes, etc I'm looking at would be cool, too!

Thank you.

airlines to the US give you two bags, 50lbs each bag, as a luggage allowance. might be worth it to see what the overweight charges would be.

You can ship it by boat, but you have to take your stuff to the shipping company, I believe.

what you cant take buy air then shipping. Just hire a maid to pack it all up while you spend a few days away

We have sent several boxes of stuff back to America using the Thai Post Office. All boxes have arrived there in good shape and we found this was as cost effective as any....................

Some years back, I had some things shipped from Bangkok to Los Angeles. The crate was about a cubic meter capacity. It ended up costing me $1,500. That was more than the items were worth. I'd consider selling the items for whatever you can get for them.

Also, remember that Thailand is 240 volts and the US is 120 volts.

Alright! Thanks for the advice. I think I'll take the smaller things with me (xbox, ps3, etc) and just sell the computer and TV equipment when I do decide to head back home.

Just came back from a visit to Canada , whilst there I 'Fondled ' my way through lots of my old keepsakes and decided to bring quite a number of things with me , a tall ship and a clown collection I had missed plus numerous items . Two suitcases with close to the requisite 23 Kilos(each) and 2 boxes close to 30 kilos(Total) which I (Thought ) I had pre-arranged to pay with Asia-miles at the check in counter . On arrival after lots of phoning by staff I was told I would need to pay for 'Excess luggage ' of 2 pieces , no mention of weight , charge was $370.00 Canadian , those 'Extras ' shipped via courier were quoted at $650.00 US .That was Toronto/Hong-Kong/Phnom-Penh on Cathy-Pacific , good people to fly with and bend over backwards to be helpfull .

Hope this helps a little , I never realised excess bagage could be less than half of a couriers fee and all my goods arrived with me , oh , I also had a carry on bag , could have taken a small rollon aboard with me also but gave it a miss , getting up in the years makes one think of those long walks at the airport .
