Someone on another thread said they were 700 baht, but they wouldn't go less than 800 baht for one of my staff. Is the swimming pool a decent size? Is the place clean? What do you think about 800 baht per night for the Diamond Beach Hotel ?

Can't prove it, but it seems to me that about 4-5 years ago all of the hotel owners got together and decided to up prices.........in some cases way, way up........without offering anything in terms of better quality.

It all seemed to fit the misguided social engineering program designed to get rid of "low class" farangs and replace them with "high class" farangs.

Of course, that failed........and there has been a huge downturn in tourism (many expats have left and others have decided to go to better places), but prices still have not come down. But TIT........normal economic laws do not apply.

I think that most owners really believe the high season forthcoming will make up for the lowest of low seasons............but I don't think it will happen. Keeping prices high is a mistake..........the bargain is no longer a bargain. And the big money-spenders are not coming.

Handy to walking street? its a s/t hotel , not that clean either.

To be fair that was a few years ago, I have not been back.
