boringbeancounter Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 My gf has decided to apply for another visa to Australia next week. The circumstances surrounding her previous trips to Oz is discussed in a topic a couple of days ago. My question now is: How much more difficult is it to get a 6/12 mth multi entry visa instead of the 3 mth single entry visa? Relevant facts (positive/negative) may be as follows: She has around $300,000 baht in the bank She has complied with the conditions of 2 previous visas She can easily prove a relationship/connection to me She has quit her job of 7 years as a nurse in May but still got a further visa to come back after that while technically unemployed I am professionally employed and have the means to support her while here but I don't know if that is relevant Any thoughts?

While money in her bank is good it is not essential....what the Government want to know is if she is going to be a drain on them. If they are looking to grant a third visa after her last visit was cut short then previous compliance will benefit. As long as you can show that you know her....foregone conclusion in your case. Her job serves as a purpose to return however her compliance with the previous visas should cover that point Probably the most relevant point, the government wants to ensure that she is covered financially and wont be a drain on the public purse. As I said in the other post, Tick the 12 month box on the application and see what they give you. It is entirely at the discretion of the Embassy what visa they will give you. In my case we applied for a second three month visa and got a 12 month ME visa. From what I have read here it seems that 6 month visas are the go at the moment.
boringbeancounter Posted August 29, 2009 Author Posted August 29, 2009 Thanks for the feedback. She will apply for a 12 month visa and we shall see what the outcome is.
strawberry Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 I have taken my wife to Aus. on 2 occasions and each time I have written a cover note stating that I would be completely responsible for all her needs whilst she was in tne country.
