August 27, 200916 yr Kaspersky internet security 2010 just reported network attack, and, the attackers IP adress! Which program is the best to locate that spesific IP? When that is found, is it anything one realy can do more? Strange this happend, only Thaivisa open in laptop. Have already run 3 ip program and they say Location Singapore, and a male name. How can I email that person, or is that the wrong thing to do? Edited August 27, 200916 yr by PS3
August 27, 200916 yr Samspade.org whois will give you the location of the service provider and you can report it to them. Some will show an e-mail such as abuse@..... Though I've not had much luck reporting attacks in the past.
August 27, 200916 yr Author Tywais: thank you, always helpful. Got an email adress name at .... mediaexpress ... Sounds like a media company in Singapore. Will try send a complain and see what happends. No abuse at ..... to be seen.
August 27, 200916 yr Author This what I got when I used the above program and then did a yahoo search on info from "admin-c". Alot more info on same page is not possible to copy/paste, only this heading / warning. WARNING: Please be aware that the fake banks, lotteries and companies on this list are used by dangerous criminals. We don't encourage anyone to engage in any form of communications with them. If you chose to communicate with them, for whatever reasons, you will be doing so at your own risk. Guess I will not email them then..... Just hope my laptop is safe when I do internet banking (?)
August 27, 200916 yr Just hope my laptop is safe when I do internet banking (?) Just make sure you have a secure connection to your bank (look for "https" in the address bar). Kaspersky will keep the nasties out of your computer so I'd feel quite confident in your security. As for the "network attack", it's often just an infected machine doing scans of IP blocks. I wouldn't waste your time looking further.
August 27, 200916 yr Author cdnvic: Thank you for that. Yes I get the green color in address bar and the "golden lock" so I guess it's still secure. Just that nagging feeling that someone, keyloggers etc looking over my shoulder. Did online scan in safe mode earlier this week and no problems. Thanks.
