Thai Passport Canada - Usa - Bkk

Featured Replies

found a great price to Thailand from Canada,

changing planes in Seattle.

Does a Thai need a visa to just travel through America?

If so, how much money and how much time to get it?

oh,,, the reurn flight transfers in in the USA, so 2 visas?

If you do not clear customs and exit the transit area at the airport , you are not officially entering the USA , you are simply changing planes there. And you do not require a Visa.

Many times I have changed airplanes in many countries and I have never needed a visa.

Will you be staying in The States overnight and you need to leave the airport? or are you changing airlines and need to go to a different airport? if not, you will not really be entering the USA . I don't know what your itinerary is so it is difficult to give you a specific answer.

Best advise is to call the airline and ask them. or maybe post your itinerary and I will be Happy to review it and give you my opinion.

She will probably need a visa. Most US airports do not have transit areas.

As said you should check with the ariline.

For visa info choose a US conxulate near where you live and check their website. http://www.usembassy.gov/

Visa costs $131 US.

Unfortunately the process for a Transit Visa is the same as other non-immigrant visas, i.e. online application, all the same forms, and an interview. The approval criteria is the same as well.

Asked United Airlines and they said it would depend on what airport, but THEN learned from the helpful UA lady that her Canadian permanent resident card makes her exempt from requiring a visa to the US.

The following contradicts that info from United.

Permanent residents (aka landed immigrants) of Canada must have a nonimmigrant visa unless the permanent resident is a national of a country that participates in the Visa Waiver Program (VWP), meets the VWP requirements, and is seeking to enter the U.S. for 90 days or less under that program.
