Dual Language Poetry Books - Thai N English

Featured Replies

I've got some dual language books in a couple other languages, and always enjoy reading them to expand my vocabulary and sense of grammar while also feeding my mind with literature or prose.

Are there any poetry books out there with, say, Thai on the left side of the book, and an English translation on the right, that are favorites of any of you guys out there? I want to become more familiar with Thai greats in the world of prose.

And are there any authors I should seek out specifically anyway ? Any recommendations of books easily found throughout the Kingdom are greatly appreciated.

I am reading ม้าก้านกล้วย (Banana Tree Horse) by ไพวรินทร์ ขาวงาม (Paiwarin Khao-Ngam) for a Thai poetry. Although it is not translated side by side, the poem is first given in Thai and then translated into English in a poetic form (some of the content is shifted around to help the rhyme, but so far it has been rather nicely translated)

If you search the title of the poem I believe that you can find a full text in both Thai and English online.

Good luck!
