Can I get rent a van as per mileage?

Hello,,,,,,,,,,,,

I think that van rental agency only provide van rent as per hour, but I discuss with my friends so they told me there are many kind of payment mode so I confuse about that van rental company also provide van rent as per mileage or not.. All Members Give Me appropriate Suggestion for "Can I get rent a van rate as per mileage?"

Thanks to all with best wishes……………

My experience has been rental by the day, plus gas. Driver is a little extra.

The rental boys round my way offer Toyota Commuters for around 1800- 2000 baht a day with a driver. I haven't come across any that do it by mileage. All you do is top the tank up just before it's returned as they come with a full tank already.

Not sure about a small local Thai company, but I doubt any major rental company would do a per mile rental. You might find your friend is confusing contracts where you have a maximum rental mileage and then you pay per mile over this. It is not in the interests of any rental company to rent any vehicle on a per mile basis. What would stop you keeping the van for 2 or 3 days and only drive a couple of miles. Then you've had one of their assets worth thousands tied up for a few days, caused them check-out and check-in paperwork and they've made a few baht/pounds/dollars. You might be able to get one with a cheaper flat fee and then mileage charges on top, but I doubt you'd get any rental based purely on mileage.

Are you sure you want to drive, what city are you going to. :)
