Munted
I've read that foreigners can have up to 1 rai of land, (I guess to build on). What's the legal minimum required? And how much is 1 rai in sq.metres?

lectito
Search for "THE LAND CODE AMENDMENT ACT (NO.8)". In very limited circumstances foreigners can own up to one rai. (1600 square metres). You need to invest 40+ million baht in an appropriate business, and convince the Minister of the Interior to sign off on you owning the land. I doubt many foreigners (if any) have ever been successful.
opalhort
This one rai issue has been discussed a couple of years ago by the government of that time but never made it into the books of law. One rai = 400 wah² One wah = 2 mtr. One wah² = 4 mtr.² One rai = 1,600 mtr² opalhort
ballbreaker
There is no such rule. I think you can purchase up to 1 rai of land for your residence if you have investments of 40 million baht for five consecutive years.
