Jurin: Schools in Dusit not to be shut down during UDD’s rally

BANGKOK, 16 September 2009 (NNT) – No school in Dusit district—the area under the Internal Security Act from 18-22 September—will be closed during the United Front of Democracy Against Dictatorship’s (UDD) protest on 19 September 2009.

Mr Jurin confirmed that the classes would proceed normally despite the Internal Security Act enforcement in the areas. However, the schools could decide by themselves whether to temporarily close if any unrest incidents occurred, he said.

The Minister urged all sides to be united and restore peace in the country. He said political problems obstructed the work of the Government for the Thai people.

Strictly speaking the schools should all be closed as the 19th is a Saturday.

But yes, we know that the education system in the realm is so poor the kids have to go on Saturday to "rian piiset"

And of course the teachers who are not doing their proper job of teaching Mon - Fri get that lovely OT
