Hi All

Can you please advise if it possible to have 2 Thai passports.

1 in my girlfriends maiden name and 1 in her new married name?

She is now in the UK on a 6 month tourist visa.

We intend to return to Thailand to marry.

Obtain a new passport in the new married name.

Then submit the application for settlement with the new passport.

Then return to the UK on the old passport with the tourist visa until it expires in Feb 2010, by which time the new settlement visa should of been issued. is this possible??

I don't think is possible cos you are only allowed to have 1 Thai passport. My mum and myself asked Thai Emb in London to have 2 Thai passports like you want to have (one with my maiden name, one with my married name) they refused. You either choose which surname you want to have in a Thai passport. You can ring the Thai Emb in London on 0207 589 2944 for more details. Sue, London.

when me and my wife married,we went and applied for a new passport in her new surname,no problams, and her old passport in her maiden

name was canceld there and then backed up by a big black cancel stamp on the endorsement page,so i assume passport no good for travel,

however, inside the old passport was a VV still good for use for 4 months not sure were we stood with that, anyway wasnt worried as we was

applying for a UK settlement visa 10 days later, and in the application form it asks you about your old passports, and were are they,my wife included

her old PP in the application because when she had the TB test done she used her old PP and maiden name, and on the IOM cert it had her maiden

name and old PP number printed on it.

So i dont think she will be allowed to travel on a PP that is canceled.
