Nature Hike Day Trip From Bangkok?

Featured Replies

Hey all,

Been in Bangkok for a few months, and as I hail from northern cali, this city, although i love it, does wear on me and I miss a peaceful hike in nature.

Is there anything nice a short (1-2 hour) bus ride away? Doesn't have to be real hiking either, just a nice stroll in a nice enviroment will do.

Thanks

The best deal in central Bangkok is the Dusit Zoo.

Wat Pai Lom Bird Sanctuary: Thanon Chaeng Wattana (Don Muang area) runs to a dead end against the Chao Phraya river at Pak Kret. Take a ferry across to Ko Kret and start walking.

The area around the National Science Museum, Klong Luang, Prathum Thani province. Get off the bus at Khlong 5 (Thanon Rangsit-Ongkarak road) and take a motorcycle taxi to the museum.

You could do worse than an organised hike, by which I mean organised for Thais and residents rather than tourists. PM me if you want details.
