richard_smith237
I guess it's the norm for parcels etc, letters and general mail doesn't seem to hold much value for potential mail thieves. Whenever I've had magazines, local news papers etc sent over I'd guess that about 30%-50% have not arrived.
cdnvic
There was a big effort a few years ago to clean up this den of thieves called the post office and for awhile it seemed to be working. But like most "crackdowns" it eventually fizzled and things returned to normal.
Stricken
I guess it's the norm for parcels etc, letters and general mail doesn't seem to hold much value for potential mail thieves. Whenever I've had magazines, local news papers etc sent over I'd guess that about 30%-50% have not arrived. I have had many parcels, hundreds sent to me here in Thailand, have a 100% getting to me rate, have never had anything gone missing, this includes golf clubs, golf bags, shoes, many, many misilaneous items, sent First Class, Priority International, just about anyway you can have sent. I have had sent from Japan, England, the US, so no countries have been picked on. I am 100% pleased with the Thai Post at least reaching me here in the Hua Hin ? Cha-Am area. bdenner
I've had no problems since hiring my PO box at the local Post Office some 5 years ago (about 200 Baht a year) . Prior to that approx 50% went missing between the Post Office and the last 17 kms to our village.
lioness
Last Christmas I posted off 9 Christmas cards to close family, only one arrived at it's destination. All were clearly marked. I would say that over the years at least 50% of sent mail has not arrived at the destination. I now register everything. Incoming mail seems to work just fine. idrankwhat
For some reason I do not get anything my Father sends me and we have checked and rechecked the address on quite a few occasions, he does however get everything I send him so, I'm not sure which post office to blame.
