Transatlantic Cable Damage Repair Status

Featured Replies

I am repeatedly told by CAT Telecom technicians that the terrible speeds I've been getting lately, particularly trying to watch streaming video from the USA, are due to continuing repair efforts on the submarine cable that was damaged in the typhoon about 3 weeks ago.

Does anybody have any specific information to verify that this problem still exists; and, if so, any information as to a scheduled/estimated completion date for those repairs?

I would say looking at the Internet traffic report this is still an ongoing issue, I recall they quoted a date in October for the repairs to be finished

I believe it is called the Pacific.

True was reporting should not be a factor after September 15 and notice was removed at about that time. They use alternate paths.

CAT may not have that option. But they can provide Express Mail Service.

I'm not so sure, I'm having a few problems with True that seem to have popped up this week.
