October 1, 200916 yr I have a program on my old HDD from an old notebook that I would like to put onto my new notebook, I have the old HDD in an external drive case and the USB connection. Is there a straight forward way of transferring this program from my old disc to the new notebook HDD? Program works fine using USB from the old drive to the new notebook, but I would like to do a permanent transfer or copy. Thanks guys. Edited October 1, 200916 yr by Maigo6
October 1, 200916 yr I think you will need to re-install the programme for the best results. Alternatively, just copy the application programme folder to the Programmes folder on your C: drive and see what happens. The fact that the programme works through USB suggest you may be OK.
October 1, 200916 yr Author Thanks Astral, What I did was plug in the USB, go to my computer, F Drive, Program files, and dragged the folder to the desktop, all seems to working fine, didn't realise it was so easy.
October 1, 200916 yr I would suggest you give Picasa a try (free) - you may find you do not need anything else. The learning curve is really easy (not like photo shop programs) and think you will find it capable of doing most things that you may need.
