'red October'- Red Shirts Plan Major Rallies

Maybe I'm too naive and insulated from the ongoing tempests in teacups, but I see a lot in common among the Reds and Yellows. Two words and one phrase give clues; monarchy, Buddhism, Thai culture.

If T would follow his own statement, repeated months ago, that he was 'through with politics,' - that would put a wet blanket on the Reds movement (oh, and if he desisted from channeling money to their/his cause).

Not sure what would quiet down the Yellows, though they've been rather quiet in recent months, up until the PV temple fuss lately, and now this recent threat to make noise about the charter.

Sure would be interesting if/when the Thai government actually gets down to the business of governing.

The red's moment has past, and they can feel it. The longer the current administration stays in power, and the more they accomplish, the further and further T and his cronies slip away. Abhisit is creeping up on 1 year in office. Isn't it great?

While Abhisit was meeting with 6,000 people from Assembly of the Poor and giving grandma Hai her check, reds were out in full force to get him.

It's getting to the point of ridiculous - there's absolutely no reason to hound him like they do. They also burned the effigy of Chai Chidchob. What has he done to them lately?

They've been brainwashed in their holy jihad and there's no hope of talking to them. Just ignore and persevere. They'll eventually come to their senses.

I keep coming back to the costs in terms of security, not only for the PM but for all the demo,s that are actually taking place and never ending from the Red side of things of late.

O.K. the Yellows are talking about future demo,s.............but only talking at this stage and certainly not actually doing anything demo wise.

The fermented fish episodes are a disgrace and to actually do these things when the PM is doing good deeds.

For what.... trying to be helpful to the AOP and the grand old grandma, who as is well known, was repeatedly ignored and fobbed off via all sorts of underhanded stalling methods when the last government and it,s CEO / TRT. where in situ.

It,s clones that followed had the same opportunity to do the right thing for her and the others he compensated.

Then again they only had one objective as in singular........get the exiled one back in power and all that was / is associated with achieving it.

Yes, a wonderful PR opportunity was the outcome and before the opposition start getting their knickers in a twist...They must realise their exiled one missed out big time on this point.

Having said that in no way was it the done for this reason and was not motivated by such a just outcome ( IMO )

Switch the news channels on you Reds and compare what you generate publicity wise and compare it to the PM,s.

You should be ashamed of yourselves and not, as many seem to doing, being proud of what you represent.

This alledgedly being representative of the Assembly of the Poor and the poor farmers.

What a sick joke you,ve become / are becoming.

During T's last weeks in office, I compiled a list of the three best candidates for top position in Thailand. I admit I don't know much about the large numbers of men who incessantly jockey for favor in the corridors of Thai politics. However, each time one of their heads pop up from the crowd, he shows himself to be inept at best.

Here are the list of three (sorry I don't have the names of two. Am too short on time to research them right now):

1. Ms Porntip. Thailand's best known forensic specialist. Author of several books. Wild hairstyle. Not afraid to buck the trend of always doing what superiors tell her to do, even to the extent of locking horns with police chiefs, when standing up for what she feels it right.

2. The woman who was (still is?) in charge of National Counter Corruption Commitee (or some such thing) and who was locked out of her office for months by TRT loyalists, for doggedly pursuing corrupt politicians.

3. The young woman reporter who didn't bow to intense pressure when sued by Thaksin. She was sued because of an Op-Ed newspaper report she put together which wasn't flattering to Thaksin.

All three are women, all three share a commendable quality (among others) of sticking with what they feel is right, in spite of immense pressure to conform to the power structure's status quo.

OK I had some time to check,

here they are:

1. Khunying Porntip Rojanasunant.

2. Khunying Jaruvan Maintaka

3. Supinya Klangnarong

All three of these good ladies have more balls and moral courage and ethics than most of the men presently serving in the Thai government.

They are not afraid to speak the truth and seek out corruption.

Perhaps if the country was governed by this type of character it would make more progress.

I was going to write that all three has in one way or another (especially the first one in this forum) been a variation of everything from critisized to character assassinated by red-fans on this forum.

If anyone is opposite their cause they will proclaim them bad and the posts will reflect it.

And then followed some pages of red-posters actually doing a variation of this again.

Sometimes it is just too easy.

And these comment (shortened to focus it)

But she is not a politician.

But she is not a politician.

surely must be held as an honor badge in this country?

Not being a 'politician' is like not being mentally insane when applying for a gun permit. A good thing.

Unlike here in Thailand where they *will* over the control of much more power than a handgun to people that clearly are insane...
