Is It Possible For Me To Get A 90 Day Grace Period On My Non O

Featured Replies

I am finishing my employnent here in Thailand, and don't intend to be working again for awhile. I have been getting yearly extensions on a non-o based on my employment and work permit. I was going to just go to Laos and apply for a 90 day non o again, but I have been told that I might be able to get a 90 day extention without leaving the coutry - is that possible? I really don't want to leave the coutry if I don't have to. I am married to a thai and my son has dual citizenship.

You can apply for a 60 day extension to visit your Wife. 1,900 Baht.

In the case of an alien

visiting a Thai spouse or

child:

Permission

will be granted for a period

of not more than 60 days at

a time

I take you have annual extension of stay based on marriage ?

In this case it would be enought just to report at immigration every 90 days and renew once the extension expires by showing 400k in a bank for 3 months or 40k montly income ?

He has an extension of stay based on employment. His permission to stay will end on his last day or working and must leave the country that day/make other arrangements. As LB says, obtain 60 day extension from immigration on basis of Thai wife. That will buy some time. Then apply for extension of stay based on marriage during last 30 days, if meets the requirements, or obtain non-O visa from embassy/consulate abroad.

Thank you again, will I need proof of income for this 60 day extention?

Thank you for alll the other replies as well.

Was not aware you can get extension based on employment on top of non-O, but take your word for it.

And lessons learned, if in non-O better to get extension of stay based on marriage with monthly income even when working with work permit...

No proof of income needed. Just proof of marriage. Take the Wife complete with marriage certificate, her I.D Card and House Registration.
