I've got a problem with trueinternet, which seems to revolve around their infrequent updates of cached images.

I'm developing a website, specifically at the moment a rollover drop-down menu.

Albeit I've uploaded new images to our FTP, online I'm only able to see the old ones, so given the different sized images etc, it's a mess.

This seems to have been a problem for a while now, and it can take a matter of days if not longer before the new images are available. If I check the URL via something like a youtube proxy or use a ctrl-F5 I can see the current images, however the scripted menu isn't functional.

All in hardly an ideal scenario for web developing.

I have contacted true, and I'm now waiting for them to get back to me

Has anyone else come across this issue or have better information about it?

Normally a ctrl+F5 should force any proxy server to refresh everything, not only pics, but also all the rest including scripts...

Monty you're right. I wasn't clear there regarding ctrl-f5. The javascript on the whole is functional, the drop-down works just fine, however there is a problem with the preloading. The images don't seem to cache using this method.

Would just be nice to see a what you see is what you get.

True is notorious for not loading images/scripts/videos/"web 2.0" stuff. I think they are sending a ton of RST packets if you dare to load more than one static text webpage from 1999 per time. Forget trying to load more than 2 pages at the same time, specially if they are image/script/video/"web 2.0" heavy. You'll end up with plenty of frustrations.

I see this problem on many many websites, including thaivisa.com

I also do a lot of website editing and I end up enabling a decent proxy just to get a couple of pages done in a reasonable time.

My solution is using a VPN proxy. As per stupid forum rules I am not allowed to speak of it because of some imaginary scary reason they cite. PM me for details of which program to use, where to download and how to use it.

The True customer service rep I spoke with today agreed that there are problems, but nothing he could do, except recommend me to continue to use the VPN proxy.

I'm guessing they have tone of bandwidth problems internationally. One one hand all ISP's try to sell you 8-10-12-16 Mbps connections ("BUY NOW. bigger, better, faster, MORE") and on the other hand they try to limit your use of it ("You use too much bittorrent, too many youtube videos loaded, see too many pictures")...

A case of eating the cake and trying to keep it or something?
