Canadian, 2 Sri Lankans arrested with 104 forged credit cards

Crime Suppression Division police have arrested a Canadian and two Sri Lankans in Bangkok Sunday for allegedly using forged credit cards to draw cash from ATMs.

Sivapriyan Sivapakiyarajah, 24, a Canadian and two Sri Lankan friends - Ajathan Balendran, 22, and Venkadeswaran Maheswaran, 28 - were arrested at their room in the Raja Hotel on Soi Sukhumvit 4 in Bangkok's Klongtoey district on Sunday.

Police seized 104 forged credit cards and a magnetic strip reader/writer and two notebook computers were seized from them.

Police were alerted by a working committee of the bankers club that some foreigners were using forged credit cards to draw cash from ATM machines in the country.

Has anyone called in Tony to help yet? :)

Is this part of the Tamil Tiger fund raising effort?

Canada with it's 300,000 Tamil community is the epicenter o Tamil Tiger fundraising. The Tigers are deemed a terrorist group in Canada. Is it possible the fellow with the Canadian passport is one of the fundraisers?

Although this is a common event in Canada, it has serious implications, Any more info on this event? Are Canadian passport holders serving as conduits of terrorist fundraising efforts in Thailand?

So some Sri Lankans were arrested for scamming ATMs, no mention even if they are Tamil, and someone jumps to the conclusion immediately that it is a Canadian led terrorist conspiracy also somehow funding something in Thailand??

Some people need some time off the internet...

I wonder if they got charged 150 baht for their withdrawals? :D

I wonder how they found them... these crimes are hard to track unless the criminal is stupid enough to pay the hotel with the stolen CC , and, of course, to stay there :)

Must be morons cyber-criminals, IMHO

The Russians are just washing money for father Putin and his gangsters :D They have those expensive restaurants and clubs empty most of the times, how they maintain them? Is it a hobby!?

Reminds me of all those furs stores in Athens, LOL. always empty, only the Russians inside and their furs. Who the hel_l is buying furs in Athens, where two parts of the year is summer, over 40 degrees :D Still, the stores are there for years and probably will remain there as long as someone from mother Russia wants to 'invest' some money in them.

That's my opinion, at least, and no Russian can't change it :D

I am a Sri Lankan and the names mentioned are Tamil names. We know who is a Tamil and who is not (from the names). So if you don't know, sorry friend. We do. The West harboured Tamils and now the ball is in their court. Western countries have still not seen the real problem. It will take time andthen it will be too late for them. Good luck.
