1 Day Overstay Visa Free ?

Featured Replies

Is there a fine for a one day overstay of a Visa ? Or only at an airport ?

The overstay fine is 500 baht/day, but is not collected by immigration if leaving by air within first 24 hours. Passport will be marked, but that will not prevent obtaining another visa or re-entering the country.

Actually I will have the same problem in 2 weeks time.

I will have 1 day overstay as well.

What you mean by : the passport will be marked ????

If I understand your answers, one does not have to pay the 500 B for 1 day overstay ?

You have correctly understood

Nevertheless Immigration will stamp your passport stating you have overstayed

Immigration will put small blue stamp in passport indicating overstay. But the writing is in Thai so most of the rest of the world won't understand the stamp anyway. You will not pay one day overstay fine IF departing by AIR. If you leave by land crossing you will have to pay the overstay fine, even for one day.
