I've Just Found An Smc Wireless Broadband Router

Featured Replies

carrying on from my other thread, I was just handed a wireless router - SMC Wireless Broadband Router SMCWBR14-G2.

If I unplug my True ZyXel and plug in my SMC will it work straight off - with the password of course?...

Nope, it's not a modem/router, just a router :)

What price can I expect to pay for a fairly good modem/router at my local IT mall in Pinklao?

As long as you log into the configuration page via a browser & make sure the settings are correct for True and change your username and password it should work (assuming the SMC router is not faulty of course)...

That looks adequate for my needs, I've emailed them asking if they accept paypal, hope they do! Does anybody know of an online shop in Thailand that DOES accept paypal?

Having had an SMC and replaced with a D-Link have to say the D-Link has been much more reliable. But that could just be that the SMC was older. It locked up on sight of any torrent and many other things. Company support was non existent for Thailand and OZ (which appeared to be hqs) was very nasty - made my mind up to never buy there products again.

Thanni does not, and they don't take credit cards either. shop4thai takes cards, don't know about PayPal.

It's difficult isn't it, it seems that everybody has had problems with all manufacturers throughout time, I think I'll have to go with the higher demand users recommendations, I jsut don't know :)

I've been recommended this Buffalo Nfiniti™ Wireless-N Router by d0ndela, no doubt someone will come along telling me they had mass problems with this same model! :D However, I've used several modems and routers in the past and only ever had problems with the current ZyXel from True...

I think I'll look into the Nfiniti tomorrow, if I cang et it for around B2,000 I'll be happy!

I haven't had a reply from Thanni regarding payment options so I'll leave them.
