The Gentleman Scamp
I'm in Bangkok and have not found it hot at all so far this year. My room has barely peaked at 34 degress, and is generally around 32-33 at the hottest part of the day. This is the coolest 'hot' season I have experienced here in years. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I suppose you think that makes you cool.

The groud got a real soaking which is great news for those working the land <{POST_SNAPBACK}> We've had an unusually cold, wet winter here, but the sun has been shining lately and it's getting up to the mid 30's each day already (but dropping down to 5-8 degrees at night, nice for sleeping !) Very little humidity here at the best of times. (Kabul is about 2,000 meters above sea level, in the foothills of the Himalayas). I'll be back in LOS in 3 weeks, might take a bit to get re-acclimatised though !
Limbo
The normal 'mango-rains' as they are called here, didn't occur this year. A mango-rain is a short rain, lasting for about an hour or less. Three nights of real heavy rain we had in March in the north. Nature reacted promptly: Everything jumped to life, the world is green again. It is remarcable. I don't know how it is in Bangkok , but in the North we have a big smog during this time of the year, caused by the burning of the rice fields here and in adjacent countries. It is really fantastic to be able to breath again after the showers and to the blue air and the mountains again. Isarn next, I hope!

Jai Dee
Heard that it rained a fair bit in BKK today ??? It did And the traffic was horrendous... It took me 3 hours to get from Central Chidlom to the Bang Na expressway tollgate... Sukhumvit and Rama IV were jammed solid... flooding and traffic light problems were the cause I heard. Good to see that the rain was so widespread though.

astral
Yep, last year and 2 years ago were bad. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It is always hot at this time of year. Some day soon the sun will be right overhead at noon, no shadow!! So what do you expect. What is unusual is the heavy rain storms we have been having!! Though welcome to fill the reservoirs, the rainy season should still be 2 months away.
