hi, I arrived in thailand on the 28/10/09, and have a flight departing on the 6/12/09. I got a free visa on entry for 30 days, that expires on the 26/11/09. I realise now that i should have applied for a 60day visa before leaving, but its too late for that now.

Am i able to extend my visa until 6/12/09 without leaving the country, or will i have to do a visa run?

You obtained 'visa exempt' stamp on entry, and that can only be extended for 7 days at immigration with ticket out of the country within that period. I calculate you are 10 days short. You will have to do a border run in the later stages of your visit - can obtain new 15 day visa exempt entry at land border.

You can only get a 7 day extension, which is not enough.

If you leave the country and return to Thailand, they will give you a new 15 days at any land border. That should do the trick.
