Bringing A Hard Drive From Japan.

I may be relocating to Thailand quite soon. The thing is I have 300GB of great stuff on my external hard drive. I live in Japan so of course it's a Japanese model. A lot of it is legal downloads of tv. I really hope the drive will plug in and work in Thailand. All things electrical confuse me to buggery so I hope someone out there can tell me that they have done it and everything works fine.

yes, but what about the electrical supply. It is the external hard drive that I want to hook up to a pc.

If your drive has an external power supply, look on the rating plate. If it says '100-240V 50-60Hz' or something similar then it has a universal power supply and will work just fine. If it says '100-120V' then you'll need a transformer, if it says '210-240V' then again it will be just fine.

The same goes for your PC and any other electrical devices you wish to bring.
