Just had the painters in to paint the Kitchen. They painted around the fridge and bin!Can you believe.

Par for the course with Thai painters :) I've just had my house repainted, and when they came to the walls, they painted round the pot plants. They got a right bollocking, and were told in no uncertain terms to move the pots and do it again :D

I didn't quite get it at first, and then it dawned on me what you were saying. :):D:D

Thanks for my morning laugh, but sorry for your predicament. :D

As someone said... just don't move the fridge and you'll be okay. :D

I'm sure there are many similar tales of Thai workers. But, it takes all kinds to make a country. I've seen some wonderful craftsmen that use nothing more than hand tools where there is no electricity.

We had part of the house extended. When the workers were partly done, we could see that the floor seemed slanted to one side and said so. They said not to worry, that after they put the granite on, it'll all be good. After the granite, it still looked slanted. They said it didn't. I put a marble at one end, gave it the slightest of nudge and off it went it's jolly way till it reached the other end ten feet away.

They spent some time arguing and testing the floor with other marbles, water, etc until reluctantly agreeing to do the whole thing over. The contractor's name? We've called him 'bastard' for so long, we can't remember his real name.

You are probably using one of your local villagers instead of a proper building contractor. Your villager will paint your house the way he would paint his. That is by painting around everything and then not moving anything. He is only trying to help you cut the costs of the paint by doing this.
