Where To Rent Camping Gears

Featured Replies

Hi..

Wanted to do 3nights camping during the year end somewhere up north...but have nothing with me here in Bangkok..

Anyone know any place to rent some basic stuff like tents / lamps / etc...

It can be pretty cold by the year end up North so.. any idea? Thank you for sharing in advance

Hock-et

You can buy a tent for as little as 500 baht at tesco lotus, sleeping bags less than 200 baht each and a lattern for 100

That is probably as cheap as you are going to find

You are right, this time of year gets very cold, Doi Inthanon in Chiang Mai reporting 9 degrees C. Many places in Thailand DO NOT allow fires so keep that in mind

Renting any used camping equipment if you can find it would probably smell bad and be unsanitary to say the least.

Either that or go somewhere like Khao Yai National Park that has tents set up or cabins to rent quite cheap

Good luck

If you're staying within the National Parks, all your camping gear can be rented from the respective HQ's - tent, bag, fawcet, lights, blankets etc...

Actually I'm thinking to trek around Thi Lo Su (not sure if the spelling is correct but sounds like that) thus might need some reliable tents / sleeping bag

...as we have 4 pax now.

How about chalet or park's facilities nearby ThiLoSu? Anyone can advise the condition over there?

Cheers

Virtually all National Parks have camping gear for rent but as one poster said good quality lightweight tents are on sale for less than 1000 Baht. Use 'em and give 'em to a local working on a building site. He'll be very grateful. He'll know someone who can use it.

This site is very useful
